Hey It's Britt!
Below will be my complete guide to all of my tips and tricks on how to prepare for your own boudoir session.
What to bring, what to leave at home.
Where to shop if you want to bring your own lingerie items...

This is your Slay all day prep + Lingerie Guide

The Ultimate guide to prep you for your session

Stretch!
In the coming days and weeks prior - START STRETCHING!
This is like a yoga session in lingerie.
Stretch your whole body but focus on your body but focus on your back, thighs, calves, and even your feet!
I have been doing this for 8 years now and I have witnessed so many foot cramps in my career!
Practice balancing yourself too as you will be pointing toes and using one leg often.
Skin Care
Here is a list of things to avoid!
- At home self tan - DO NOT TAN YOURSELF! It is impossible to edit and smooth tan lines.
- New skin care routines / tretinoin
Here is a list of things to improve your skin!
- Drink that water!
- Avoid fast food
- Exfoliate - body, feet, face, and even your lips. Use your toothbrush to lightly get rid of that dead skin and it will even give your lips a slight plump!
- Moisturize - Make sure you are moisturizing your lips, under eyes, around your nose and mouth. Aquaphor is great for your under eyes and feet then slip socks on!
Boudoir is more than just nudes
Here is some of Britt's favorites for self care...
spray tans
Please see a professional spray tan artist to be a bronzed and glowy babe!
mani / Pedi
Don't forget to pamper yourself with this!
Skin Care
Taking care of your skin is by far the most important thing you can do!
Milky Toner - Serum - Moisturizer
Those 3 steps, in the order!
Lingerie + Props
I know you feel intimidated, you've never done this before or maybe you have but your nerves got the better of you and you didn't know what to bring.
You can make a statement with a few items from home. Don't go ham - think of what is important to you or your partner if you are gifting these items.
- Baseball
- Football
- Basketball
- Motorsports gear
- Jerseys
- Hats
- Your favorite blue jeans
- White button downs
Lingerie Guide
I always recommend bringing two pieces of lingerie that you love just in case!
LEAVE THE BABYDOLLS AT HOME! I KNOW.... they're your favorite cause they cover up but that's exactly what they do, they cover you and make you look like a box. Leave them at home!

for the bride
If this is a bridal session, take note as you can still bring items from above but here is a few more to make a statement for this part of your bridal era.
- Dress - it does not matter if it is fully fitted
- Veil
- Shoes
- THE BLING GIRL
- Bouquet or a flower stem or two of what will be in your bouquet
- Jewelry
- Garter
- Dress Sleeves - I personally did this for my bridal session and it was my favorite outfit and I just matched a simple white cheeky thong to go with them.
Extra!
I do want you to be aware that you are also welcome to bring a nude bra/panty to wear under anything!
You may also want to bring in a set of pasties or if you are heavier chested and worried about that, sticky bras are amazing.
Hair, skin, and nails
We talked about how to prep your skin but what about the rest of your appearance?
Hair
Have those roots touched a week or so prior to your session.
Avoid new hair colors such as vivid if you have never done them before. You don't want to be disappointed in your photos because you wanted to try something new - even though I perfectly get it! I've had many things done that I wanted to try but maybe wait until after your session.
Skin
Remember to properly take care of your skin like mentioned in the tips at the beginning of the guide. Avoid new skincare routines that may upset your natural skin barrier and cause breakouts, dryness, or peeling.
Consider hair removal - Getting a dermaplaning facial before your session. These allow your skin care and makeup application to go on smoothly.
If you have sensitive skin and don't want razor burn or bumps, make that wax appointment babe.
Nails
Get those mani/pedis!
I get asked on a regular basis about colors... ultimately it is up to you but I do recommend staying neutral.
Nudes, natural ombre, French tip, nude with chrome or cat eye over lays are my favorite and are all stunning photographed.
Session Day Prep:
- Wash your hair the day/night before
- The morning of during your shower, EXFOLIATE! Remove all that dry, dead skin. Ulta and Target has some amazing sugar scrubs.
- After exfoliating, this is the perfect time to shave if needed.
- Moisturize!!!!
- When coming into the studio, wearing loose fitting clothing is best. You don't want line creases all over your legs, feet and back. DON'T wear jeans! You don't even need to wear a bra if you don't need or want too or just opt to wear a comfy bralette or sports bra.
See you soon babe!
I hope this guide was helpful to you! Of course if you have further questions do reach out to me! I can't wait for your session!
